Pain
There’s a comic about the sun being eaten by something, it was a big thread and it spanned several different series but the page I remember is when Batman and Superman are talking, Superman’s powers are fading because of the lack of sunlight.
Superman: cold, I am freezing cold, I’ve never felt that before.
Batman: that must be a new sensation for you, the burning cold, something you had never before experienced.
Superman: what type of masochist keeps track of the types of pains they feel, oh… of course.
Batman: 216, now back to work.
Burning: You don’t feel anything at first, then it’s a like a thousand needles are being pressed into your skin. The best relief is ice cold running water, do not put butter on it, you will simply make it worse you need a way of getting the heat out of your cells. Hold onto to some ice.
Cuts: A sharp knife cut will not hurt at first, it’ll simply be cool, like an autumn wind blowing on your skin. Depending on the depth of the cut the pain will be sharper. A tiny bit of pressure will ease the pain significantly.
Broken bones: only happened twice, the pain sucks, takes your breath away and you can’t breath. Best remedy is to punch your hand on something hard so the pain in your hand can balance it somewhat.
Running out of breath: a nice sharp feeling like someone is pushing slivers of wood into your lungs, just remember it’s pushing your lung capacity so it is good for you.
Bruises: ahh come on that’s not pain, well it is, but it’s fun pain. Like the tooth aches you used to get as a kid.
Scrapes: They don’t really hurt until you pour the hydrogen peroxide on it, they will sting bad enough to make you cry.
That’s all I have, 6 types of pain. There’s the sensation of burning cold, but that’s not really a pain, you go numb soon enough. What else is there ? How can I find out about the other 210 types of pain ?

Headaches, migrains or fibromyalgia.
Or the pain U feel after U wake up from anethesia (my ankle surgery was really tough on me!).
But, ahhh, the broken heart. That is as painful as it can be.
I knew of a friend of a friend who wondered about different kinds of pain. So he decided to slice his tastebuds since he figured they were really sensative. Picture that kind of pain. I bet it’s tingly.. like hitting your funny bone over and over and over again.
Then he ran his bleeding tongue along the dorm room hallway walls to trace how long it took before it stopped bleeding.
Now that’s curiousity.
steph dear, that’s insanity!
Nasy, hmm the pain you are in after being put under for surgeory, isn’t that more like being nauesous ? yeah there’s pain there. I am not counting emotional pain cause you don’t get to define it as cleanly.
Steph now that’s someone after my own heart, playing volleyball one time I bit through my tongue and it bled for about 20 minutes inside my mouth, I spit out blood for the next hour but I estimate that it took about 15-20 minutes for the cut to scab over, only your mouth is always wet so you get this white sort of scab, also your mouth is the fastest healing part of your body. The pain of a cut tongue was much like the pain of cut/bruise combined. No tingly sensation unfortunatly. oh and I finished practice before I went out to spit the blood, it turns out blood can clot inside of your mouth.
